Scripts, workflows, and interactive tools from Carwil Bjork-James’s Wikimania 2026 workshop on automating contributions to Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Commons.

These pages document the data pipelines behind a set of semi-automated contributions to Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Commons, presented at Wikimania 2026. All source code is available in the wiki-graph repository on GitHub.

Each page shows the R code alongside its outputs — wikitext ready to paste, QuickStatements batches, or maps for upload — so other editors can inspect the calculations and decisions behind each contribution.

Municipality Infoboxes (EN)	Generates {Infobox settlement} wikitext for all 336 Bolivian municipalities, incorporating 2024 census population data and 2026 election results.
Municipality Article Content (EN)	Produces prose paragraphs, municipal council tables, and election result sections in English — ready to paste into new or existing Wikipedia articles.
Tablas del Concejo Municipal (ES)	Same pipeline for Spanish Wikipedia: council composition tables with party affiliations from the 2026 elections.

Wikidata: QuickStatements and data quality

Page	Description
CPV 2024 Population QuickStatements	Generates QuickStatements V2 batches to add 2024 census population figures (P1082) to all 336 municipality items, with pre-flight checks to remove stale values.
Flag & Coat of Arms Review	Visual review interface for matching Commons flag and coat-of-arms images to Wikidata municipality items before running P41/P94 QuickStatements.
Wikidata QID ↔︎ OCHA Pcode Crosswalk	Reconciles Wikidata QIDs with OCHA p-codes (COD-AB), enabling joins between humanitarian datasets and Wikidata items at municipality level.

Cleanup Tracker	Running audit of Wikidata item types, Wikipedia category membership, and expected page existence — re-render after each editing session to see progress.
