      Bolivian police shot a teargas canister at a protest in Santa Cruz in January 2003, wounding a bystander in the eye. He died from complications of multiple surgeries. This is the only death caused by security forces on-the-street under President Luis Arce.

        Whistleblower Marco Antonio Aramayo died in custody following a long history of mistreatment in April 2022, a second death for which the Arce government is responsible.
