@AmiDar So maybe I'm not endorsing the coupling of counterinsurgency with moral judgment, both b/c it involves double standards and b/c maybe an occupation is a kind of box that has no exit for people that doesn't involve vicious means of struggle.

@AmiDar So to say (paraphrasing here) "the world is not better with such* people in it" when there are few other options to escape the box one's own society keeps them in, seems unfair. * People who would do such horrible things.

@AmiDar It feels like there was once a moment of historical empathy between, let's say, the Irgun and Arafat generations that is perhaps lost in a time when the Israelis can now see themselves as a permanently established state and their adversaries as incomprehensible terrorists.
