        The elections represented a partial truce with the opposition, but government allegations that the opposition "hacked" electoral authorities, that the leading candidates were co-conspirators and that protests are either a coup or illegal subversion all mean that truce is over.

      Accredited election observers from the Carter Center have departed the country without validating the results. Carter and the UN both called for a release of electoral documentation or actas, so far withheld.
