        Biden has no special small-d democratic imprimature from that year, and no right to rail against "party elites" willing to choose the candidate who they think can win.

      What 2020 did involve, however, is a serious alteration of the Biden agenda to win over skeptical Sanders and Warren voters. Such a move would help a Biden substitute in 2024.

      In this, if not her acceptance of Biden staying, AOC is exactly right: a pivot in the Democratic platform towards improving everyday lives (not just its standard bearer) is vital to winning in November.
