        So long as the mass killing is a part if their daily awareness for the young, a matter of human suffering they can look into the eyes of, but an abstract political debate that older adults can deny or avoid, the university campus will be a flashpoint.

      But both the sensitivity to injustice and the hope of stopping it are unevenly distributed at the moment. This is not inevitable.
