So to recap, the United States is committed to wars to: 1. Defend sovereign territory from invasion (Ukraine) 2. Reoccupy territory used in an attack on civilians (Gaza) 3. Defend commercial shipping (Yemen) 4. Join in retaliation stemming from 2 (Syria, Iran)
-
All while arming and funding… 5. A generalized punitive assault that treats the population as its target to the point of genocide (Gaza)
-
Any claim to defend principles, the international legal order in Ukraine is thoroughly vacated by the embrace of occupation in Israel.
-
Any claim to speak for humanity is rendered meaningless by the complete participation and continuous rearming of genocidal warfare.
-
Only race/continental origins (alignment with European and European-led states) or historical happenstance (we support the atrocities of our friends and condemn those of our foes) can explain these alignments.
-
The contrast between US embrace of Saudi Arabia, their joint bombing of Yemen and SA's invasion of Bahrain to suppress pro-democracy movements, and condemnation of Iran is another sign that no moral compass exists here.
-
The Middle East has been flooded with weapons for decades, the vast majority of them making a handful of US corporations and elites rich, but rendering any regional war into a bigger disaster.
-
If all those weapons are actually deployed, the result would be catastrophic for everyone in the region. Many would, rightly, blame the United States.
-
Everyday Americans have no interest in such an outcome. We must repudiate the politicians, policies, and racial distribution of sympathy that have led to the current and looming disasters.
