The Inca Empire had a principal language (not a dialect), called Quechua by outsiders and Runa Simi by speakers. Millions of people, including millions of Peruvians speak it today.

While all ethnic belonging is socially and historically constructed, this Guardian article illustrates that a ton of colonialist baggage and mythmaking went into deeming 18 Peruvian families honorary Jews for purposes of colonization. theguardian.com/world/2002/aug/07/israel1

In a global context where Israelis increasingly attempt to recast their very real ancestral and historical connection to the land as "indigenous," this utilitarian conversion and laughable ignorance about the indigenous realities involved is not a good look.
