      Obviously, US intelligence officials have just blown their credibility by propagating the Israeli line in Gaza, not least by repeatedly inflating the claim that Al Shifa Hospital was a legitimate command center. Thay credibility is now needed if in fact this was an ISIS blast.

        Given the stakes, we all should be checking ourselves for motivated reasoning. Fury at Israel's slaughter in Gaza could make this seem obviously their fault. Fear of a regional war could drive hope it was someone else. Neither is actual evidence.
