      Chávez Durán was reportedly running an errand at 10pm on January 1 amid dramatic street clashes over the arrest of the governor of Santa Cruz.           A formal cause of death has not yet be released according to La Razón's reporting, but unofficially the news is a coronary cause.             Erbol reports that Erwin Chávez Durán was struck by a tear-gas canister, according to the detailed account of his spouse.               Tear-gas canisters have caused 8 prior deaths in Bolivia since 1986. Nine more have died from tear gas inhalation and its sequelae. This munition is used consistently in a "non-lethal" manner by Bolivian security forces.
