      Acknowledged limitations: "the study may underestimate long COVID deaths because clinical guidance for the identification and reporting of PASC has evolved over time and death certificate literal text may contain additional key terms that were not included in this study."

          In addition there are numerous known sequelae to COVID that are increased likelihood of other medical conditions, unlikely to be recorded as Long COVID or PASC on death certificates. However, this is a clear early signal that Long COVID is sometimes fatal.
