    @Antisomniac @joinmastodon @iramjohn I went through this discovery cycle in April. Scholar.social struck me as run by a community-committed admin (or admin team) and the costs are either covered by its existing Patreon or easily rescued in a crisis.

      @Antisomniac @joinmastodon @iramjohn Mastodon enables export and import of follower lists and export of toots, so migrating between instances isn't too hard.
