    @EmilyGorcenski 2. If that's not a concern, it's possible that your experience with running-as-not-fun mirrors my pre-2019 experience. @kellymcgonigal's _The Joy of Movement_ convinced me that the "runner's high" is actually a persistence high. And it came in my second 25 minutes.

      @EmilyGorcenski @kellymcgonigal Once my body was ready for it, I continually found that the last fifteen minutes of a 40 minute run were amazing. Regardless of speed. I'm not sure the couch to 5k programs build you towards thst.

        @EmilyGorcenski @kellymcgonigal One more thing, temperature is a totally huge variable: running in the summer sun can be awful and being somewhere late, early, shaded, or dark enough totally transforms the experience of summer running.
