        1. Whether or not it's Biden, we need a high-profile individual to walk us through how COVID infection (1) still requires vigilance, (2) is a solid reason to take sick leave, (3) absolutely requires isolation for thr health of others, (4) can have serious consequences.

        Public figures out to lead by example, and pretending COVID is no big deal in the year with the most infections yet helps no one.

      Given the number of people experiencing Long COVID, and losing parents/elders to chains of infection, we all should be hearing stories of famous people experiencing these common situations.

    Ritualistic before-the-fact pronouncements that cases will "hopefully be mild" should, at minimum, be followed by attentive news coverage when they are not.
