By taking average years for each domain, we can see which conflicts predominated before/after the 2005 rise of the Movement Towards Socialism, a year with just one death.

Largely neoliberal-era conflicts: coca, gas wars, rural land, economic policies, labor, peasant, drug trade*, guerillas. * The database only considers deaths where a mass movement engaged on the issue.

Largely plurinational-era conflicts: partisan conflicts, mining, municipal governance, urban land conflicts, local development, paramilitaries, indigenous environmentalism, disabled rights. Mining is pretty balanced between the two.

Along with these topical shifts, there is a move from largely state/movement violence during the neoliberal presidencies to inter-movement violence during the MAS-IPSP presidencies. Áñez and the interim miltary government of Nov 2019 maintain the neoliberal pattern.
