        @HeathenUMC I have children in school and medically vulnerable family members. I know well the relative costs of keeping kids home, sending them in masks by direct experience. And of getting long COVID by knowing their classmates.

      @HeathenUMC Mask mandates, even w/o high-quality respirators make a material difference in infection rates. Our daughters are still wearing them but it's not as helpful when their classmates aren't.

    @HeathenUMC Also, it occurs to me that I'm not sure what you mean by classist here. I'm just talking about how buying extra safety for one's kids is a widely valued and discussed act among American professionals. Yet not so much for COVID in 2022.
