@Wodonoz @jderpic There would have been no 2019 political crisis without this loss of confidence (and the third-party voting of around a sixth of the electorate in ways that denied Morales a clear first-round win).

@Wodonoz @jderpic And I don't deny the essential role of mass protests in the resignation of Evo Morales. mobile.twitter.com/CarwilBJ/status/1384901376791220225

@Wodonoz @jderpic These people were agents, but so too were the military and police leaders working behind the scenes, and the extraordinary cabinet assembled under Áñez. Did they give the protesters what they demanded? Or did they work to appropriate popular agency?

@Wodonoz @jderpic Did Áñez's government impartially investigate the 2019 vote or just leave the question in suspense? Did it release political prisoners, or keep Aramayo and Juan Bascopé behind bars, while torturing massacre survivors from Senkata, and prosecuting blockades as terrorism?

@Wodonoz @jderpic Did it welcome the GIEI and other international investigators of 2019 abuses, or did it harass Argentines who interviewed surviors? Did it even systematically investigate the shootings of caravan members? Why were so many prosecutions allowed to languish?

@Wodonoz @jderpic Did the Áñez government even fulfill its mission to the political right, or did it fracture the right by continuing the egotistical division among leading personalities that has split the opposition since 2009?

@Wodonoz @jderpic And most directly, did I miss the moment when Jeanine Áñez pledged her loyalty to the collective demands of the protesters and asked them for their visions of new and more accountable Bolivian government?

@Wodonoz @jderpic If not, I think it is the interim government and not an American academic who uses the four letters c-o-u-p who denied the agency of the protesters of October 20-November 10, 2019.
