@jderpic Yeah, I don't think they were protected. But there shouldnt have to be an order. This all should be standing policy. A couple US examples follow...

@jderpic In the US Secret Service protection (our presidential capsule, more or less) is extended to both major party nominees the moment they clinch nomination.

@jderpic Also, no presidential order is needed to turn the protection over on January 20 at noon. Thus when Trump slinked off, he was not empowered to order or not order the military to obey and protect Biden as president at 12:01pm.
