        @specklight The fascinating thing about this clip is that Nick Estes and Vijay Prashad each write complex histories, but seem to be bonding over a narrative where there is only the state-aligned Left or the Fascists.

      @specklight Ironically, as I tried to peer deeper into Hungary 1956 for this tweet, I ran into Tariq Ali's political friendship w a leader Imin that uprising, where his later work on SAm is about embracing the state-aligned forces of the Bolivarian Left.

    @specklight I mean the very reason his circle was the *New* Left Review was its anti-stalinism. But "with us or against us" / "there are only two sides during a mutiny" is a powerful mental tendency.
