A pivotal moment in Bolivia's 2019 crisis came on November 9-10. Two caravans traveled to La Paz demanding Evo's resignation. The first was Caravana del Sur from Sucre & Potosí. #GIEIBolivia

At this point, Vila Vila residents called for backup from surrounding rural areas. The latter attacked the caravan with teargas, dynamite, stones, molotovs. Passengers, largely women, were physically and sexually assaulted, doused with fuel and threatened with burning.

Around 25 members of the caravan were taken captive, beaten. After 10 escaped, 13 men and two women were still held. The men were ordered to strip, all were threatened with being burned to death, and were forced to claim on video they were protesting for pay.
