        @oddNihilist To be a bit more specific with examples (and this is not about the letter signers, specifically)… There were human rights activists that found it very hard to pivot and support those killed by the state after Nov 10.

      @oddNihilist Others were driven by their (understandable) hostility to credulously buy into theories that the MAS planned an autogolpe, controlled all post-Nov 10 riots in El Alto, faked the death of Jorge Clavijo, etc.

    @oddNihilist I know it's hard to see this via a Twitter thread, but my point here is that this kind of tilting of one's perspective is understandable, normal, nearly inevitable.

      @oddNihilist To take an extreme example, MASistas apparently burned Waldo Albarracin's house down. Knowing this is important to understand the party's capacity for viciousness against opponents. And yet, it also is reason for skepticism about some of his other takes on the MAS.

        @oddNihilist I was trying to make this point to outsiders in my TL who are literally accusing all critics of the MAS of being pawns of the US State Department. It's much more useful to understand the rational reasons why they are fed up.
