        The parsimonious explanation is that Gutiérrez (1) feared retribution from political opponents and shared those fears w/ his family; (2) he was injured accidentally; (3) parties close to him jumped to conclusions without evidence.

          But if this is so, it falls to the prosecutor and those conducting the autopsy to say so. Unclear if cowardice or genuine confusion is holding them back.
