@NicoMason2 Look, many of the bad decisions that underlay the 2019 election, including implanted biases in the TCP and TSE, and Evo's ill-fated decision to run for a 4th term after clear repudiation in the 2016 referendum were Evo's responsibility.
-
@NicoMason2 Evo Morales earned the right to be paranoid by being hunted and conspired against from the beginning of his union career at the Villa Tunari massacre to the 2002 elections. Tragically, his manichean labeling of election protesters led to the death of Julio Llanos.
-
@NicoMason2 But the fact that with his government and world turned upside, his comrades' homes burning, his personal home looted, Evo Morales made phone calls to organize a challenge to an incoming government is not one of his faults.
-
@NicoMason2 Someone must bear responsibility for the lack of a peaceful, orderly transition to a nonpartisan caretaker government in 2019…
-
@NicoMason2 Given that the Morales government reached out to negotiate and Mesa said "I have nothing to negotiate," Mesa bears much of that burden, IMHO.* So too do the Camacho/López-led cluster conspiring to make Áñez president and lead a crackdown.
-
@NicoMason2 * This may have been the most stunningly counterproductive decision of Mesa's life, gutting his chances to become president of Bolivia.
