@PepinaSediciosa @TowardFreedom One fifth of the MAS base showed up for Arce/Choquehuanca in 2020 but not Morales in 2019. That's why they're not preparing for a very tough runoff right now.

@PepinaSediciosa @TowardFreedom There's a long history of divides and re combinations among organizations in TIPNIS over the last decade. Even the MAS-aligned orgs came out against the highway, which is suspended again, in the past 2 years.

@PepinaSediciosa @TowardFreedom A TIPNIS leader is the Beni Senator from the CC. A rancher is the first MAS Senator. Also, don't assume the MAS votes in San Ignacio de Moxos municipality are all poor peasants. >2/3 live in the town of the same name.

@PepinaSediciosa @TowardFreedom TIPNIS has gotten disproportionate coverage. The MAS fallouts with Potosí, El Alto, and Chuquisaca peasants were more politically and electorally significant. woborders.blog/2019/10/22/understanding-the-end-of-the-evo-morales-majority/
