The MAS candidate for the first senate seat is Roxana María "Suka" Nacif, a young member of a well-connected cattle ranching family. Far from the MAS's original class constituency. facebook.com/SukaNacif

The vision of Beni ranchers' federation is to expand ranching and export agriculture to much more of Beni's 22 million hectare area. This vision is shared w/ both the Santa Cruz Right and the MAS-IPSP govt under Evo Morales. lapalabradelbeni.com.bo/trinidad/organizaciones-productivas-crean-comite-para-impulsar-el-desarrollo-del-beni/?fbclid=IwAR1hYBiIs2zQiKvyCPp6df055oAL7SpqxsEanea0zEQRPadbco7njGHheNs

Meanwhile, TIPNIS leader Cecilia Moyoviri is the senate candidate of Carlos Mesa's CC party. The MAS crackdown on independent land defense by indigenous residents of the Isiboro Sécure territory left her a political orphan. news.mongabay.com/2018/11/punished-bolivian-communities-opposed-to-highway-cry-foul-over-neglect/

Now she identifies Mesa's Comunidad Ciudadana as "an option that brings together all sectors, including the indigenous peoples of the eastern lowlands." In Beni, she claims, all its candidates are from marginalized communities. paginasiete.bo/especial02/2020/10/9/la-caza-del-voto-beniano-mujeres-pugnan-por-la-primera-senaduria-270902.html

Claudia Eguez Algarañaz, the Creemos candidate allied to Luis Camacho, was formerly married to Carmelo Lens, Beni's governor from 2013 to 2015. She too advocates expanding ranching and agroexport. paginasiete.bo/especial02/2020/10/9/la-caza-del-voto-beniano-mujeres-pugnan-por-la-primera-senaduria-270902.html

Eguez and Lens were once part of interim president Jeanine Áñez's Democrats party. Luckily for Eguez, she felt betrayed by them and didn't join Áñez's 2020 alliance Juntos, and din't have her political ambitions sink when the president withdrew in September.

All three look set to serve as senators after the election. The three qualifying parties will split Beni's four senate seats, with the largest getting a second. The MAS leads in the polls prior to the election.

Amid a huge night for the MAS, CiesMori projects that the CC are leading in Beni, so Cecilia Moyoviri may have a second Beni senator in her party. @k_francescone/1318049022440067072
