3 things troubling me epistemologically about the Biden camp's response to Tara Reade: 1. Staffers who don't claim to remember her at all are denying her assault complaint.
-
... and weirdly saying nothing about her harassment complaints. Like no comment on whether Biden touched her in staff meetings, commented on her appearance, had her attend functions as decoration.
-
You were there, Biden staffers. Does that behavior sound familiar? Thus far, no comment.
-
These are the harassment complaints she made publicly in 2019, which extend the pattern described by seven other women. theunion.com/news/nevada-county-woman-says-joe-biden-inappropriately-touched-her-while-working-in-his-u-s-senate-office/

We don't even know if these staffers remember Reade, just they don't remember her making an assault complaint. Which isn't odd bc she claims she made a *harassment* complaint to Capitol staff, after complaining verbally within the office.
-
2.Reade claims she was sidelined in Biden's office after filing her report. One or both of Biden's character witnesses could be directly implicated in this retaliation. So they aren't unbiased sources at all.
-
3. If the report was disclosed to Biden's office improperly (and I'm not sure it was, but the alleged retaliation was definitely improper), how can we be sure it wasn't expunged from the office at the same time and w the same motives.

This line of thinking sucks bc it would mean that a failed document search wouldn't necessarily undermine Reade's account. But I want less grey in this picture, not more.
