@OVargas52 In any context but Bolivia, Juan del Granado and to a lesser extent Lucho Revilla would be filling the progressive megacity mayor slot occupied by, say, the PRD in Mexico or di Blasio in NYC.

@OVargas52 From 2006 to 2009 (when they were part of the MAS parliamentary alliance), the MSM aligned explicitly with Evo while criticizing "monopartidismo." They urged a pro Evo vote in the 2008 referendum.

@OVargas52 Within municipal policy, they have supported public works spending in poor neighborhoods, a reversal of prior policies. SOLbo and the MAS national government have essentially been competing for working class Paceños' votes with dueling projects. Hence Mi Teleférico.

@OVargas52 Finally, the SOLbo governor Félix Patzi is an indigenous anticapitalist (see his book Tercer Sistema) not fundamentally dissimilar from David Choquehuanca. Whereas Lucho Revilla is more centrist. So, a left-center electoral alliance within La Paz.
