@leh_vanessa In 2011 (as I'm sure you know), the indigenous deputies defended TIPNIS and wrote the law protecting it. Plus they were beaten alongside other protesters at Chaparina. But the post-2014 deputies were chosen to be dependent and they wrote the law reversing protections.On twitter.com

@leh_vanessa What would be optimal is if indigenous communities could recall or derecognize their representatives if they fail to act in their interest. But independence from parties is a big step forward.Permalink On twitter.com
