      Wikipedia faces many challenges on overcoming bias, but its value orientation makes it unique among large online platforms. Unlike other sites, it aspires to treat all places as equally worthy of coverage, as illustrated by its approach to "Java."

        This commitment to equality was hard fought within the #Wikipedia community, but now it serves as a guiding principle, whether defined as "countering systemic bias" (Wikipedia project) or achieving "knowledge equity" (Wikimedia community strategic goal).
