@oddNihilist @LilaAndrea86 My follow-up tweet means this: while we have the same scenario in the USA (the racist relative who won't shut up at family gatherings), typically that racism is way less violent than a wish that all Indians or Blacks has been killed.

@oddNihilist @LilaAndrea86 I've heard a lot of racist relative stories but never a call for mass killings or reenacting slavery. My guess is that fewer than 1% of such expressions (thus 3 sigma off the norm) are at that level.

@oddNihilist @LilaAndrea86 Of course there's no racist relative index, and all of this, including the math, is very off the cuff.

@oddNihilist @LilaAndrea86 The point isn't whether racists in the US or Bolivia are more genocidal, but whether the former live in a society where its socially unacceptable to advocate for such things.

@oddNihilist @LilaAndrea86 Regretting "that we didn't kill all the Indians"/"keep all the blacks in slavery" in the USA goes beyond the racist relative trope, into yucky Nazi territory. Many of the reactions to my tweet show that the same rhetoric in Bolivia is not shocking to the same degree.
