  1. #EleccionesBo2020 It's worth noting that Bolivia is scheduled to have regional and municipal elections in 2020 as well. At these levels, the MAS-IPSP is incredibly dominant, and the only political force with broad reach across Bolivia's 339 municipalities.

      The MAS presented candidates in every municipality in 2015. Right-wing Democrats contested 76. Right-wing MNR: 64 Indigenous left MPS: 63 Right-wing National Unity: 58 Only eight parties ran candidates in more than one department.

        While it fell behind in some major cities, the MAS-IPSP won 40% of the national vote for mayor in 2015. No other party came remotely close.

          As a result the MAS-IPSP governs 2/3 of Bolivian municipalities. This majority is a long-term project, largely accomplished between 2005 and 2009, and buttressed by national government power.
