          1. After yesterday's 8 deaths, November 2019 is now the deadliest month in Bolivian political conflict since October 2003, during the Gas War. (This chart includes numerous deaths not caused by state security forces.) #BoliviaEnCrisis

Overall, the post-1982 democratic era has seen at least 560 deaths in political conflicts, although that total includes accidents, deaths in hunger strikes, and inter-ethnic conflict.

The greatest loss of life occurred during the highly conflictive 2000-2003 period, bookended by the devastating (60+ deaths) Laymi-Qaqachaka conflict and the 2003 tax revolt and Gas War (139 dead that year).

Before that period, and since, 7 to 10 Bolivians have died each year in political conflict. Eight were killed yesterday. Seventeen since Morales' outster. Twenty in the last month. We're living through one of the most tragic moments in Bolivian democracy.
