@samhusseini @AndeanInfoNet I didn't ask for the resignation of a president. I reported that wide swathes of Bolivian organizations did.

@samhusseini @AndeanInfoNet What I advocated was this… "holding some kind of vote under terms that are acceptable to a broad swath of the Bolivian public and that acknowledges the rights of both Morales and Mesa voters."

@samhusseini @AndeanInfoNet "If and only if the police, military, Morales government and electoral opposition can agree to such an exit, democracy can be preserved."

@samhusseini @AndeanInfoNet The problem I have is that once we confuse honest analysis with assigning white hats and black hats to the correct people, we start to lose sight of what is actually going on.

@samhusseini @AndeanInfoNet Over twelve years, this has meant that Bolivians whom the US/international left saw as "critical grassroots voices" have gradually become "pawns of imperialism," often while taking the same stands. The longer you do this, the less you understand on the ground.

@samhusseini @AndeanInfoNet For example, Gonzalo Colque has spent the last decades defending the land rights of small farmers. Yet the international left will not listen when he says there are more than two sides to the conflict: @ColqueG/1186662214352166916
