      That includes 1,095,672 hectares in Santa Cruz department. From their interactive map, this includes a high share of forested land in the Chiquitano dry forest. #SOSChiquitanía #BoliviaFires

    The ~640,000 hectares in Beni are less concentrated in forest areas, but post-Aug 24 reports indicate fires in the Beni Amazon forest as well.

      A key question in the #BoliviaFires is what share is forest and what share is savanna and pasture. FAN reports that its researches are working to give an official figure. But visually, the share is large in Santa Cruz.
