  1. A quibble with numbers on @crowdcounting's website (linked in PT): "Overall, we estimate that between 5.9 million and 9 million people protested in the US in 2017." Published crowd estimates are not the best approach for this.

      If 20% of polled adult Americans claim to have protested in 2016 or 2017, that's 50 million Americans. That's a 5 to 9 times as high a the @crowdcounting estimate for 2017. The polled answer is probably closer to the truth.
